Playing around in the kitchen with Fall fruit recipes, I generated this Ginger Agave Syrup Pear Delight!
Pears are not only a wonderful Fall fruit, but they are appropriate for all 3 Ayurvedic constitutions: Vata, Pitta & Kapha. By simply poaching the pears with varying amounts of Ginger, Agave and Sucanat (natural raw sugar) in a moderately sweet syrup, on can increase Agni (digestive fire) and keep the doshas balanced. Enjoy!
Here are a few suggestions for each Doshic Constitution:
Vata – Use 3 slices of ginger, 1 tbsp Sucanat/pear & 1 cup water
Pitta – Use less ginger, perhaps 1 slice
Kapha – Use more ginger, ie. 6 slices & just Agave as the sweetener
