Twitter Tips for Going Vegan!

No one says you have to be Vegan. I’m not Vegan, yet. =)
But here’s some great Vegan tips from Tweeters to include in your culinary repertoire.
I especially like the one about soaking nuts and making creamy sauces.

In this week’s Well column, “How to Go Vegan,”, we asked you to send in your favorite tips and tricks for adopting a solely plant-based diet on Twitter. We received a range of responses, from quirky ingredient combinations that replicate a nonvegan dish to simple mantras to get you in a vegan frame of mind. Here are some of our favorites. Let’s start with some simple recipes that may satisfy your vegan craving:

Lentils sauteed w/ brown rice, onions, cumin & red pepper makes great taco “meat”  @nytimeswell

@nytimeswell It’s a wrap: lightly steam collards or other hearty greens as wrappers for sushi or other healthy hand rolled meals 

@nytimeswell One of the best soups ever? A head of cauliflower blended into a few cups of water. Add salt. eleganteating.me

 Make spreads for sandwiches or toast out of soaked almonds, cashews or sunflower seeds with basil, sundried tomatoes, etc.

Raw cashews soaked and blended make an excellent creamy Alfredo style sauce. Add garlic, and lemon. @nytimeswell
